Soy what?

The Washington Post reports that the Food and Drug Administration will forbid the use of the word milk in the names of plant-based products: “as the head of the FDA said last week, ‘an almond doesn’t lactate.’”

Upon hearing this news, my artist wife fired off a sketch of a mother almond breastfeeding her baby almond. It was quite heartwarming.

That’s sweet (no pun intended!). There’s almond butter as well, which contains no butter. And no one’s confused.
