Ba-ba

[Talia Ivy Raab. Click for a larger baby, larger hedgehogs, &c.]

Elaine and I spent most of last week visiting Rachel and Seth and Talia in Los Angeles. It was great to be in their company as current events turned ever more nightmarish.

Talia is a champeen crawler, an energetic dancer and percussionist, a well-mannered restaurant-goer, and an all-around fount of affection, happiness, and intelligent curiosity. I like this photograph because it shows her surrounded by toys, books, and music. And, if it doesn’t go without saying, love.

One of Talia’s words is ba-ba, or bye-bye. Bye-bye, Rachel, Seth, and Talia. We’ll see you again soon.

Aw, jeez, yer killin' me here!

That little girl is a peach. You are lucky grandparents indeed. And she is lucky to be so well loved.

I’m happy to be able to share her happiness. We need it. :)

That kid is just the perfect dollop of whipped-cream happiness!
A joy to see her growing bigger and ever brighter (though she was a bright star from the beginning).
I just looked up her name, and see it means Dew of Heaven and?or? a female lamb!!!
CAN THIS BE?!?!?
Too, too wonderful!!!

Oh, wow---to add to ther perfection, I further read:
" In Greek the meaning of the name Talia is: Joyous muse of comedy."

I think all these meanings are contained in "dollop of whipped cream."

Yes, all those meanings are in her name, though the etymology is not exactly clear about the dollop. Talia’s laughter is pretty infectious, as we just saw again tonight, long-distance.
