Be prepared (?)

““I think I’m very well prepared. I don’t think I have to prepare very much”: Dunning K. Trump, commenting on his upcoming meeting with Kim Jong-un. Yeah, you got this.

Michael: I find this an interesting statement. I had found an article which of course I cannot find now in which a former diplomat explained the background one often takes in these type of meetings. I remember one of the takeaways was that one needs to determine what is the outcome of the meeting to be.

When I worked for a trade association I attended several meetings with higher level foreign government persons. Truly interesting meetings and I also realized that I wouldn't have been cut out to be a diplomat. One has to be truly patient.

One of the most interesting meetings was when an "unofficial" translator started translating some of the proceedings. Heads turned and the visitors immediately went into overdrive along with the meeting hosts.

Thanks for sharing that, Kirsten.

I went a little bonkers after I made this post when I realized that June 12 (which somehow seemed distant) is next Tuesday. In other words, almost immediately after the G-7, or G-6 + 1.

I’m sure he has the critical topics covered: the size of his inauguration audience, the fabulous accommodations at Trump International Hotel, lack of patriotism among NFL players, how unfairly Roseanne was treated, Fake Witch Hunt, etc.

I’m sure the dictator and his entourage will be staying in a Trump hotel if he comes to the United States. What a travesty, eh?
