Hallmark is a bleep

It was late. Frasier was on. Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) and Susanna (Allison Janney) have been arguing the merits of an imaginary painter. And now Susanna is about to storm out. From the episode “Three Blind Dates” (March 5, 2002), her parting shot:

“For your information, Benjamin Locklear is as overrated as your [   ].”
The Hallmark Channel bleeped the word: ass. Hallmark censors its reruns.

It’s Frasier, for Pete’s sake. Grown-Up City. Innuendoville. Sexytown. Let us hear the words.

Hallmark's censoring 'Frasier''s dialog is annoying in and of itself. Considered in the light of 'Frasier' originally being broadcast on NBC — a network whose audience is considerably larger and more diverse than that of Hallmark — for over a decade, the latter's practices seem more than a little weird.

It may that the Hallmark audience is more conservative. But then why show Frasier? And The Golden Girls?

A discussion board at a Frasier fan site has a 2014 thread about Hallmark bleeping words. So they’ve been at it for a while.
