Illinois Supreme Court typo

My son Ben found a great typo in the Illinois Supreme Court ruling that just put Rahm Emanuel back on the ballot in Chicago. Read closely, and you’ll find it too:

[Thanks, Ben!]

I've seen photos of Rahm's house, and it's definitely not adobe. Maybe our justices need an architectural primer. ;-)

Welcome to Rahm's humble adobe!

Was the question really whether he would lose his "abode" or home by renting it? Wasn't the question actually whether he would lose his residency? But I guess we can't fault anyone too much considering the Court decided this matter, and issued written opinions, in a matter of days.

I think the question was whether renting is equivalent to losing resident status. Something like that.

That's what I thought. But it was phrased in a somewhat sloppy fashion; it could be interpreted that the Court was deciding whether one loses their abode because one rents it. Now that would be a novel legal theory.
